Who am I? I am 45 years old and have been teaching third grade for over 20 years, and I love it every day. My husband and I have been married for over 10 years, and we have a son, Trevor, who keeps us busy. He is truly my inspiration for wanting to get healthy and fit. In our little family we also have a dog named Bundy who rules the roost along with his little brother.
My purpose for creating this blog is to share my journey and hopefully inspire, motivate, and educate others in reaching their own health and fitness goals. The hardest thing for me when I got started was the meal planning. I was living meal to meal with lots of frozen burritos and take-out in my diet. Since then I have collected and continue to collect quick and easy recipes with clean ingredients. If you can find things that you enjoy making and eating, then you will be on the path to success!
I began my Beachbody workouts in October of 2013 with Focus T25. Time is so precious to me, and I really loved that it was only 25 minutes. I am also a HUGE Shaun T fan. He is so cheerful and motivating to me; I love this guy!
PiYo was released spring of 2014, and I decided to make it my summer project. When I got in shape for my wedding over ten years ago, yoga and the South Beach Diet were great for me. I loved the yoga, but now I don't have time or money for expensive classes like that. And you know the deal with South Beach, works in the short term but not sustainable.
My next workout was Insanity Max 30, and I have gotten amazing results with it. Shaun T raises the intensity a notch, but still keeps the workouts short. Even I can find 30 minutes for a workout!
I became a coach when I got great results and my co-workers, friends, and family started noticing and asking me what I was up to. It was more than just losing weight and dropping a few sizes. People noticed how much happier and more positive I was, and I wanted to help them to find those same feelings. Coaching is rewarding to me on so many levels! I feel lucky to be helping people improve the quality of their lives by becoming healthier and happier, plus the ripple effect that goes along with it is amazing. When one person changes their life and starts making better decisions, it can't help but improve the lives of the people that they are connected to, and so on, and so on...
I am truly grateful to everyone who has allowed me to impact their lives in a positive way, weather through joining one of my Challenge Groups, drinking Shakeology daily, or even just trying out a recipe that I have suggested.
